SAT Prep Begins February 28th
|
With all of this cold weather it might be hard to think about June 4th. But that is a big day. That’s the day 11th graders at Auto will be taking the S.A.T. exam. If you have not registered to take the test yet, go to The College and Career Office, room 115, and sign up on Collegeboard.com.
Once you have signed up, the next step is to begin attending SAT preparation classes. The SAT prep classes will take place after school three days a week. One day will be dedicated to Math, one to reading and one to writing. Mr. Schneider will be teaching the Math class. Mr. Deignan will be teaching the Writing and Reading class.
The SAT prep classes take place Monday – Wednesday. . The SAT can be a very challenging test and there are several very important strategies that can help students out a lot.

Once again, Auto students will put on a musical performance in the Spring. This year's show is Little Shop of Horrors. Rehearsals take place every day after school in the theater. See Ms. Parr for more details. |

Who is your Graduation Guardian?
|
Every student at Auto has a Graduation Guardians. Here’s what they do:
Graduation Guardians…
…meet regularly with students (9th – 12th grade) and ensure that the students are on-track when it comes to attendance, grades, exams and attitude.
9th grade guardians…
…help students learn about all that Automotive has to offer inside the classroom and out, and stress the importance of setting high goals and establishing good academic habits.
10th grade guardians…
…ensure that students have accumulated all their required credits to be promoted, explain the purpose and importance of tests such as the PSAT and explain the process of credit recovery, if necessary.
11th grade guardians…
…prepare students for senior year and college/career. This includes PSAT prep and signing 11th graders up for the Spring SAT. Students also need to understand the importance of (cont...) |

Career and Technical Education at Automotive
|
Automotive High School prepares students to be mechanics, technicians, entrepreneurs and more. Many juniors and seniors receive paid internships, giving them valuable skills for the 21st Century economy before they graduate.
The school also runs a “live shop” – meaning teachers, staff members and neighborhood resident can bring their cars in for repairs.
Finally, the school is a member of the National Technical Honor Society, and has a Troubleshooting team which competes in numerous regional tournaments. |

• CONTINUE TO ACHIEVE AN 80% AVERAGE OR ABOVE IN ALL CLASSES
• ACHIEVE A 75 OR HIGHER ON ALL REGENTS
