Although Automotive Technology is still a non-traditional field for women, their numbers are growing. In fact, the number of women in the field has doubled just since 1989! Automotive Technology is a growing field; the Federal government annually reports that the demand for mechanics, both in dealerships and independent stations is growing, and so are the average earnings of skilled mechanics. With this prospect, Automotive High School’s job placement programs and connections with companies such as Mercedes-Benz and Toyota—it’s too good a shot for young women with a technical bent to miss! We believe than an Auto education empowers students, both today and in the future. Our goal is to make a positive impact on every female student who has the chance to be a part of Auto.
